After 12th science, the course a student chooses defines his/her career. Such is the importance of that decision. I’ve already written an article titled- ‘best courses to do after 12th science’. That article has been getting many visits also. Since then, I’ve been getting requests from Biology stream students of 12th science class. They’ve been asking me to write a similar list, exclusively for Biology students, so that they can readily make use of it. Here I’m, with one such list of best courses, aimed at creating good careers for biology stream students.
The reason they said was that the article about top courses after 12th science contained too much information. Yes, that article consists of courses for both Mathematics and Biology students. With this article, I guess that now they won’t have to carefully scan out group B related courses!
I’ve tried to keep the list real concise and cover as many good courses as I could. Make sure that you read the whole post, analyze each course and select the one that suits you the best. I agree that you may be well aware of many entries here. But I had to list them here, to make this list as concise as possible.
Best Courses After 12th Science Biology (PCB) Group –
The list starts here. The courses are not ‘ranked’. This is just a random order.
#1 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
The most sought after and popular course after one completes 12th science, biology. MBBS is for those, who want to become a Doctor. I guess almost all of you know that!
But the problem with doing MBBS is that there is heavy competition involved in the admission process. The Government College seats, the most sought after one, is taken up by meritorious students and the ones who are eligible for reservations.
The admission is based on the marks scored in 12th science and entrance examination. If you want to get into a private/Government Medical College, you must have scored good scores in those exams.
Further, don’t think that just doing MBBS would suffice. To gain value and knowledge, one must also be willing to do PG (Post Graduation) course also, which again is highly competitive! You may also check – Medical entrance tests in India.
And after becoming a Doctor, it won’t be just about building a lucrative career and money! You should be ready to serve, ready to sacrifice many personal pleasures etc. The course duration is five and a half years. For more details, check this detailed article out- MBBS after 12th.

Compared to an MBBS Doctor, a BDS Doctor will have a bit more time to relax! The schedule won’t be as hectic as an MBBS Doctor. If you want to become a teacher, you may study B.Ed. after completing B.Sc. Regarding B.Sc. select a discipline that suits your aptitude and likes.
Sir I am from India completed 10th exam an I am excepting for taking science biology but when I.will completed 12th then which line should I take ……..fast reply its urgent
It depends on your passion and interests. If you want to become a Doctor, go for MBBS. If you want to become a Pharmacist, go for B Pharmacy. If you want to become a Nurse, go for B.Sc. Nursing. If you want to become a Physiotherapist, go for BPT course.
I want to become a vet and have my own clinic
want subjects should I take?
how much will I earn after becoming a vet?
Take PCB subjects (Biology group). Salary will depend on your clinic location and your skills. Difficult to predict.
I got 83% in 12th – Bio Group this year, please let me know which course I can choose ?
Can I go for MSc-IT, BCA, Bsc.Computer science course ?
Generally mathematics subject is mandatory, when it comes to pursuing the courses you have mentioned. But some institutes are known to have relaxed this criteria. They could give you admission.
Other than that, courses suited for biology group students have been mentioned in the article. Please go through the list of courses and find one that suits your aptitude and likes.
Hello sir,
I have completed my 12th exam and i am preparing for aipmt, but i am doubtful about my selection so i want to keep second option from which i can become a doctor.
Also, i want to know that which course is suitable for getting a job in an cosmetic company or any other goods company as a adviser of the product or in its lab.
which college or institute would be suitable for the above requirements…
Kindly guide sir…
Courses like BDS, BAMS, BHMS etc can also help you get the title of ‘Doctor’. Regarding job in cosmetic sector, chemical engineering, pharmacy and biotechnology courses could be of help (to get technical side job). For management related jobs in this sector, MBA or any other management course will do the trick.
My son now got 81.25% in hsc Gujarat board. He wants to be a doctor. But can’t get Merit for it…now in which faculties he has to go? Genetic science/biotech/aviation/…..which is more profitable job?
Aviation field is good. Genetics and Biotechnology are decent fields too, but he must go for higher studies and must have patience to build a decent career in these sectors. Other than theses courses, Nursing, BDS, BPT (Physiotherapy) etc are also good options.
is bio-tech has the scope in india with good sum ?
You must be willing to go for higher studies. R&D sector related to B.Sc. Biotechnology is good. But it’s still an emerging field. Core sector jobs are limited. You’ll have to look for jobs in allied fields with just UG Degree.
Sir,
please tell me some of the important paramedical courses , and the job scope in Kerala
Medical lab technician, Operation Theatre Technology, Anaesthesia Technology, Radiology Technology, ECG and CVT Technology etc are some good courses.

Hello sir
I am Abhishek and I am from Gujarat. I have completed my 12th from a CBSE school this year with 94% in biology. I didn’t wanted to go for mbbs so firstly I opted for B.Pharma. I got admission in NMIMS, MUMBAI and Nirma but due to home sickness I turned up to MSU. I didn’t liked there too so I had an idea to go abroad so I gave IELTS and I scored 7 bands but now I don’t feel like going and my parents are now telling me to again go for mbbs. Sir it’s not that I don’t want to do but I am afraid about the duration of the entire course till P.G level.
Going canada at this age will be difficult for me. I am a person who likes to explore new things and places. I think that I won’t be able to enjoy my life if I become a doctor in future so, please suggest a solution.
Abhishek, why don’t you try Pharm D course? It is better than B Pharm.

Sir,
This is Rahul Kumar from U.P. I have taken bio+che+phy in my 11th std. I don’t understand what to do after 12th. Although I am preparing for aipmt but still I am not clear which course I should choose. Sir please tell me what to do after 12th so that I can earn money more than an IITian.
Rahul, MBBS would be a good choice. Other than that you may also go for BDS, Pharm D etc.
